As you can see, it doesn't have to look perfect! I briefly write each chapter in only three sentences, so I know what is going on.

How to begin a novel

Hey guys. I've been so busy lately, but I decided I'd post a writing post today. I have been writing for about eight years now, and one of my favorite parts of writing is starting the story. In this post I will be telling you how to begin writing your very own story with these simple steps!

Plot:

First step for writing a book is to know what your story is about! You must have a general idea before you start to write the book.

Characters: 

This is another important part of writing. It also happens to be one of my favorite parts! Start with the protagonist, and then the antagonist. Make the protagonist have sidekicks, and the antagonist have minions.

Conflict:

What are the characters struggling with internally and externally? How will they resolve their problems?

Plot twists:

Any good story has a plot twist! For some examples; in Star Wars when Luke finds out Darth Vader is his father, in Harry Potter, Harry realise she is a horcrux and must die. The Harry Potter series has lots of good plot twists!

Sacrifice:

Have a character make a sacrifice to save someone! In Allegiant, Tris saves Caleb instead of herself even though he wasn't very faithful to her. In Harry Potter, Snape pretended to be a death eater just to save Harry!

Layout:

I like to make a notebook where I keep lots of ideas for my story. In the book I plan out each chapter, plan out lots of plot twists too.

Back stories:

Who doesn't love a good back story? Almost every story has a good back story with it. Of course, in Harry Potter we have Dumbledore, a hero to all wizard kind. But Dimbledore has a dark past. Give reasons for why your character acts a certain way. Did a loved one die and they want revenge? Maybe they come from a line of evil people and want to change things up by being the good one.

Novel Summary

Hey guys, I am back after a long break. Sorry I haven't posted in over a month, I have been super busy because exams are soon! Anyways,today I will be telling you about the story I am writing. Since July, I have been writing this post apocolyptic novel. Summary: Anna Oliver, her siblings, and friends, are forced out of their homes to train for propaganda. Anna is chosen for Atypical Propaganda, where she is trained to be in fake combat scenes featured in commercials. Group 16 is one of the chosen groups for the official Government Propaganda, which is to stop people from rebelling. The Government believes that if people see how strong and powerful they are, they won't fight. Group 16 performs in a Sovereighnty performance, and afterwards they travel to Iceland to film fake combat/strength scenes. While in Iceland, Anna's sister Skye goes missing, and the filming is postponed to look for her. The Group stays in Iceland, while people search for Skye. But of course Anna can't not help! Anna leaves the Group, following the forbidden instructions of a ransom note she was given. Anna gets to the Government where it says Skye is, and looks for her, while her boyfriend, and best friend who are both competing for her attention, look for Anna.
